Swimmin Runnin Duff

So yesterday I had a pretty awesome swim. Did a 500, then did some drills, then another 500. Found out there is an AWESOME Biathlon going on here April 5th. It happens to be a 500 swim at the pool I swim at...and then a 5K right next door at the park I run at. HOW PERFECT! ALso the swim is in the pool...which will be a nice way to start getting oriented into the multisport races. I'm not ready for open water yet....NO WAY JOSE! Anyway...my only question is WHAT DO I WEAR? I know...typical girl question. I know I will be swimming in a swimsuit...OBVIOUSLY...but then what do I do for the run?! SO confused....any help would be great. If you cant tell I'm pretty excited about this. Once that is over...I'm going to start biking a ton. I feel like I need to integrate the two sports separately...esp with my schedule. But after that race, I will jump head first into biking. Then after the marathon in May, I will be in full gear for triathlons this summer. That is the plan STAN!

Also I have a 15 mile run this weekend. My longest distance yet...and I'm scurrrrrred! haha. I am going to just take it slow and enjoy it. I have so much steam to burn off from the past couple weeks of school that I'm almost looking forward to it. I can't wait for my weeklong break...bc I'm about to break down. Anesthesia.....will be totally forgotten during that week. I will be in a week long anesthetic coma...but for now I must forge ahead. Still have some classes, tests, practicals, and finals yet to go! Say some prayers!

PEACE :)

We have a similar race in town the weekend before yours. 500 swim, 5k run, and I'm definitely doing it.

I've never swam 500 without stopping, so this is going to give me some serious motivation in the pool this month. You're definitely gonna whoop up on me in the pool!

A 500 swim and 5k run sounds like the perfect way to ease into tri's. Plus, being familiar with where you are swimming and running will help. Good luck, I am sure you are going to do great, especially with those calves! Have fun on your 15 miler this weekend.

That's very cool!! Nice job on the workout. Maybe I should come down there and spend a week with you coaching me on the swim. Get the guest room ready. ;-) I'm going to try it again tomorrow. Any advice on swimming is welcome. Good luck on your long run this weekend.

Good luck with that long run, but it doesn't look like you'll need it! :)

yay for biathlons!!!!! so bc i have pretty big tatas, i probably would wear a sports bra and tri shorts to swim and run in... but you can do a swimsuit and then pull some shorts on afterwards!

Hola,

The biathlon will be a blast. Tri gear is the way to go, no changing. Just add shoes! Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to see how your tri season progresses.

Good luck with the long run, I am sure you will do great!
I love how you drop the 500yd swim bomb like a walk in the park. That is fantastic!
How about one of those tri tops for the swim and the run with a bikini bottom thingie. I don't know I have to wear bullet proof looking top for mine since I carry my flotation devices on my chest :-/
That event should be a great taste of the future tri's!

Hi Christine

I am so impressed with you swimmers. I will stay on the dry ground where this is little to no chance of me drowning! Seriously, best of luck on that long run and just enjoy it.

You should wear a full wetsuit with a a facemask. It would make for awesome pics on your blog. So what if people make fun of you.

Good luck with the long run. Bring some food as that's too long of a run without anything.

That sounds like a great event to get ready for multi-sport races!!

I'd wear a swimsuit and throw some bottoms on over them. Hopefully its a great start to a great year!!
