I GOT DOUBLE D's!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO....not the boobies you silly heads. Double digits in MILES!!! I made it 10 miles today! My longest run ever.....and somehow my fastest pace time. I know..I'm dumbfounded too. I think I get so bored that I speed up to get it over with. Also the sun was starting to go down..and I was getting scurrrrrrrrred!! All in all...it didn't feel the greatest. I have been feeling sick the last few days with runny nose and sore throat. I again had to be up at 4:45 today...and had 6 hours of clinical..and then 3 hours of class. But thats not the point.....I FINISHED! Also I sent out an e mail to my classmates inviting them to do the 5K of the race that I'm doing the half marathon for. So many of them are super excited and want to do it!! Hoorah! Here she is...aint she beautiful? Until I died at 7.5 miles...I'll work on that! haha

Interesting day today. My first case of the day was an emergency gunshot wound(s) (plural). This guy got shot in the abdomen, both arms, and right kneecap. It was such an interesting case and I just kept praying that today would not be the day that I would lose my first patient. The guy was pretty tough and did just fine. They left his limb wounds alone and only tackled the abdomen stuff. Thankfully he has survived so far. Maybe this will be a wakeup call for him that there is a better life out there for him..and that there is a God.

Well....I'm tired...sick...my legs hurt...and I want to barf all over myself. Im going to hover in a corner with a blankey and go night night:) XOXO!

Nice job on the run!

Be careful, though, illness is one of the first signs of over training. Don't go getting injured, I recently had to take the majority of 3 months off due to being over zealous about running!

Good job on the run.

Please get well before you venture into another long run. Ignoring your body when it's sick is a no no.

"I'm tired...sick...my legs hurt...and I want to barf all over myself".
Sounds like a country song.

wow, sounds insane to be treating somebody with multiple gunshot wounds. I would've been in shock, you must be a very composed person!

congrats on the run! doesn't it feel sooooo good to hit those big milestones?!?

10 miles..great.

amazing how medical pros have to make those quick decisions on which parts to treat first...etc.

Hi Christine

Look at you racking up the big miles. Congrats. I love your enthusiasm for running and if you can keep this up you will improve very quickly.

Could there be a Boston Marathon in your future??

Best of luck.

oh yeah, and I just voted :) I clicked on running sunglasses, but was going between that and a massage so I'm glad to see that massage is currently winning..

Treating a GSW patient, huh? Man... if I ever see a small amount of blood the size of a dime, I faint. *THUD* I keep falling and cannot get up.
Keep up the good work.. and are you also signing up for the half marathon in Hilton Head?

Way to go on your 10. You will do fine for the race. I am not going to do anything differnt - just my normal runs - 3 to 4 miles in the morning. But if you legs are hurting, maybe just do like 2 or so.

I know I won't beat my time from last year, but I am confident that I will finish and not hurt too much.
