I know you all have been sitting on the edge of your seat wondering what I'm going to do with all these decisions (prob not..haha..but ill pretend). HERE IT IS! Thanks to all your great advice!
NO WAY to hilton head half marathon this weekend
Half marathon in Atlanta March 30 is still on!!!
Drumroll please.........
I'm going to attempt my first full marathon May 18th in Cleveland, OH. If all goes well anyway....if not...it will be another half.
I want to get the marathon out of the way and check it off my list. I don't think it's going to be something I fall in love with and want to do all the time. Quite frankly...5 hrs of running sounds pretty boring. I got bored during my half marathon (prob from staring at shoes). I think triathlons are eventually going to be my passion. But this is definitely something I want to conquer.
This summer will be full of sprint triathlons I hope. There are 3 beach bum tri's in Hilton Head..I'm "bummed" though because the bike ride is on the sand. I mean sounds fun..but not when you are all giddy to tryout the triathlon bikes. There are some normal sprint tris here too.
One more announcement...We are going to stay in Georgia for at least another year. There was talk of moving back when my clinical rotations start in September (to Ohio)...but due to weather and intense training goals :).....we are gonna stay down south for at least one more...(maybe forever).
Thats all folks! Have a great week!

That's incredibly cool about the 1/2 and full marathons. I'm with you. That much running is just boring. I'm doing my marathon in a couple weeks in New Orleans and that may be my first and only. After that, it's on to tri's so I can switch up the training.
Best of luck!
yay yay, im so glad you made the decision to not run in the 1/2 this weekend AND the great decision to sign up for the FULL marathon! :) yay yay! so many exciting long runs ahead of you :)
So, the Half in Atlanta on March 30th. Does that happen to be the ING? I will be running that as my second Half. My first Half is Next Saturday.
Keep up the great work!
Congrats on deciding to do the marathon - you'll do great. I've heard the Cleveland Marathon is a good one. I didn't know you were an Ohio girl like me!
Yay for the full marathon!!! And for triathlons this summer! You should come up to TN and do one with me!
I think you are making good decisions. I am sure you will have a really great race season. I can't wait to hear about all your upcoming training and races.
I think you made the right decision not to run again this weekend. To help with the boredom you may find during the 1/2 and full, really try to make an effort to enjoy the races and all that is happening around you. The cross training for the tri's will help you with your marathon training as well. Good luck!
Hi Christine
Good idea not to do that half so soon after your last race. I have done the Cleveland marathon and found it to be a fun race. My wife is from Cleveland and my nephew still lives there so it was one big party. It is a pretty easy course that has some nice sights as well.
Best of luck.
I would stay down there forever!! Ohio(and Michigan) sucks. Enjoy the nice weather, and good luck with your training.
good move on backing off the half marathon so soon.
i'll be doing the half marathon in cleveland ...you'll do great...
triathlon season is fast approaching too.....yippee
that was my 1st full marathon too :) it was awesome. you'll be great!!
Never leave the South, it's the best. Cold winters are the devils I'm telling you!
SO excited about the first full marathon, you must be pumped! I'm excited to read your blog while you train and then hear all about how it goes!
Wait until you do your first marathon to pass judgement on the "boringness" of it! My first marathon, which I did in 5 hours was long and hard. The second, I did with my wife, was seven hours. I enjoyed every minute of it tremendously!
Good for you wanting to tri! That is entirely awesome! You are in a good place too! They are tons of tris withing an hour or two of your home pad.
Good luck with your training! You'll enjoy ING. It was my first half mary! FYI: the last three miles are very hilly! Add a little bit of hill training at the end of your runs!
Marathon..boring...you must be entering the wrong race! Things only start to get interesting at 26miles!
Congratulations on your recent 1/2 -- sounds like an absolute blast!
You are going to rock the full it looks like you have been getting some great advice.
Thanks for the comment on my blog too! :-)
The full marathon will be an experience of a life time. And glad to see you're giving yourself ample time to get ready.
Enjoy the training. Preparing for a marathon is a golden time.
Boo... I did my half today and was hoping you had decided to do yours as well. But great news about the full marathon! I haven't gotten the nerve to sign up for one of those yet.
Yaa, what an exciting schedule. I am doing the 1/2 in Cleveland as well, it is my first.
Awesome on doing the full!!
Looking forward to see how training goes :-)
